Well hi folks!
My first blog :/ sorry it's been so late, any of you who know me knows iv had a bit if a crazy year so lets have a bit of a catch up!
But firstly I'll have a little word about me if you don't know me! I am Kathryn Georgina Walker - Kat/KG/Kitkat ill also respond to other things which i wont mention here ;)
I'm a 3rd yr Advertising & Marketing student - Sports and Societies Student Officer - Cheerleader - I founded women's cricket but due to unforeseen circumstances, it will have to wait till next year to really get going.
Iv also been part of Trampoline & Gymnastics societies which i miss greatly, cos i never got tired of landing on my head lol. Now i just settle for other people landing on my head in cheer, its all fun and games really :/ hehe we have nationals this weekend which is very exciting! So please wish us good luck!
3rd year has been pretty intense with everything else but managed to do alright, probably too many fiver pitchs but you only live once! Currently finishing off the old dissertation i feel i have had quite the love/hate relationship with it as most people do...at the moment its hate! but as of next Thursday i don't have to think about it again! The thought of Salou (tour) is keeping me going and Varsity is being my motivation to get it done this weekend, so i can go and watch and support our teams - LETS GO LINCOLN, LETS GO! (that's a bit of cheerleading for you right there)
In the SU iv concentrated my efforts more on an event which Chris Farrel and myself have started this year...SUPERSTARS! woohoo :) its been rather successful having quite a lot of contenders taking it very seriously! and always badgering me for hints and tips for the next round, I'm glad that they have really got into it. Hopefully next year it will continue and be even bigger and better!! If you want to come support our next rounds -round 4&5 will be on the 16th April in the sports hall 6-8 where you can see them do a circuit and trampoline challenge...then onto the semi's which will be in tower bar and finally Finals in the engine shed on the 21st (my 22nd birthday :/ how the years go so fast!) and the winners shall receive their rewards at the Sports & Societies Awards evening.
I've really enjoyed this year in the SU and i will be sad to say goodbye at the end of this year, but as they say onwards and upwards!
Right well I'll leave you with this some what of an essay, its been a nice distraction away from the dissertation which i shall be going to the 24 hr library in a min to fingers cross finish! Ow how one can dream...
Over and out! x
